Vegan Oktoberfest October 3rd 2015

I volunteered with Mercy for Animals, one of the most effective animal rights nonprofits in the world. This was my first opportunity to work with this organization, and it was really great to help out! It was also really nice to see so many vegans and “vegan-friendly” people gathered together at Vegan Oktoberfest.

Souper Bowl January 28, 2012

This fun annual event is organized by The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico’s food bank. It is a friendly competition for Santa Fe’s restaurants to compete for best soups while raising funds to feed New Mexico families and children. I hosted soup making demonstration with my recipe for Winter Vegetable Posole, and donated 5 gallons of soup to the food bank.

Happy Hour Fundraiser to Benefit the Breast Wishes Fund October 12th, 2011

At Amavi, we donated our bar and whipped up some healthy tasty treats to support Breast Wishes, a nonprofit that aims to educate women about breast cancer treatment options and cancer prevention.

Cook With The Chef  August 4th 2011

This was Santa Fe Alliance’s cooking demo program at the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market. I made a cherry – plum crisp inspired my favorite baking author, Rose Levy Beranbaum. Rose actually attended this event! She and her husband came to the cooking demo and had dinner at Amavi later, she blogged about it here.

Santa Fe Wine & Chile 2011

For the 21st annual Wine & Chile Festival, we hosted a multi-course, made-from-scratch dinner paired with wines from North Berkley Imports at Amavi. It was a fabulous success.

I partnered with my friend chef Kim Muller to host a multi-course luncheon at the Allen Houser Sculpture Garden with wines from Santa Barbara based Alma Rosa Winery & Vineyards.
